Oreo Cookie Cheesecake

2 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
1 1/2 lbs cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sugar
5 eggs, room temperature
1 cup sour cream, room temperature
1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
15 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Combine the butter and cookie crumbs and press evenly into the bottom of a greased 10-inch pie pan. Set aside.
Beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add in the sugar, then the eggs.
Stir in sour cream, flour, vanilla, and salt. Gently stir in 5 chopped cookies.
Pour the mixture into the pan and top with remaining chopped cookies.
Bake on the top rack for 75 minutes.
Turn off the oven, prop the door open several inches, and allow the cake to rest in oven for 1 hour.

Refrigerate overnight.

  1. awesome recipe. its actually in the oven as I type. however I did had less sugar and less oreos (we usually dont eat anything with refined sugar, but the cheesecake is for a special occasion,
    thus ONE comment:
    I didnt think using a pie plate was right, and I sure am happy I used a 9inch spring form, it was filled almost to the top, not sure how it would have fitted in a pie pan, even 10"
